Worked over the weekend

I ran away from home on Saturday and hid in a local restaurant appreciated by the local fen* community around here called The Night Kitchen. It’s wonderful thing is it’s open from 6pm to 9am only. This is a late night filker’s^ dream.

Anyway, my muse cooperated so I added words.  I am now around 71% done. Not great, but progress.

42597 / 60000 words. 71% done!

Excerpt to show I really was a good writer. lol  Standard disclaimers apply regarding raw wordage.

The afternoon sun heat the still air. The warmth surrounding Mark’s body felt pleasant, and combined with a full stomach, made him sleepy. He sprawled on the bedspread and closed his eyes. The battered cloth next to his nose smelled like Grandma’s house and the thick grass underneath it. Something tickled. His hand rubbed his nose where lint had caught. Grandma’s shadow moved over to block the glare and he relaxed.

The sounds of the carnival behind them faded into a mushy drone then faded as he dropped into slumber.
