The very last Harry Potter movie

Hunnybun, me and the two boys, my 11 yr old and his 16 yr old, went to the theater today to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II.

The unanimous opinion is that it is worth paying the ticket price to see it. It was visually stunning, and the plot doesn’t even catch its breath, much less slow down. In this world of wow-CGI movies this one had so much more impact than even Avatar. That movie was beautiful, but the story was simple, lacking the heartfelt depths that Rowling reached in the climax of her epic tale, The Deathly Hallows. The books were wonderful and amazing in their level of greatness, and this final movie reached that same standard.

A bow to Ms. Rowling for giving the world of writing an impossible standard to reach for. We will all be better for it.
